I tought a class?
I found these images done as part of a class I ran last year at CDW (concept design workshop, in Adelaide). Its a great school! The class was on visual development for animation. We took a little story idea and tried to flesh out some sets and do some background paintings for it. My story was about a Dutch admiral that gets shipwrecked alone on an island.
I did some after effects stuff for the more finished looking background but seem to have lost it :(
The next part of this comic :) It’s fun to see it evolve a little each time. I might eventually go back and fix up stuff to make it more consistent, but probably will leave it. I have an idea of how to continue it now!
I’ve put together a rough little website where you can read it from the start here. Still missing a title! Any ideas?
The next part of this comic i’ve been doing in my spare time. Still not 100% sure where it’s going! but i have some ideas that could be fun…
See the first part here.
Probably add a title to the first panel when i figure out what it’s about. To be continued…
Over the past couple of years (on and off) I’ve been helping out to produce background artwork for Michael Hill’s short film The Orchestra. It was just recently finished!
Part of my job involved designing and treating 3D assets to fit with 2D painted backgrounds. I’ll put some stuff up about that at some point, it was kinda interesting!
Made this fanart for Tonk’s Island, which is a nickelodeon short/pilot thingy by Mel Roach. It was also worked on by some people i’m vaguely acquainted with via the internet!
I sure hope nick are smart enough to give them money to make more of this because i really love the short. You can watch it here:

A painting i did for the Blankspace Drawing Challenge. Theme was Maritime! Funfunfun
